About the Opportunity
The Casman Group of Companies is looking for an experienced Health, Safety, and Environmental Manager to join their team in Fort McMurray.
The main responsibility of this role is to assume responsibility for the implementation, management and maintenance of the company's HSE processes, systems and programs. In addition, you will formulate safe work standards, and enforce procedures including risk prevention of hazardous materials exposure, accidents, fires, or other unsafe conditions.
More specifically, the successful candidate will:
- Participate in the development, implementation, and surveillance of the Quality Management System objectives and procedures;
- Assess and develop implementation strategies to achieve corporate compliance with emerging regulatory initiatives;
- Ensure Occupational Health & Safety (OH & S) and reporting compliance with regulatory bodies, industry associations, and related stakeholder groups;
- Administer the Safety and Loss Management program through review of work practices and making recommendations to ensure compliance with safety standards, laws, good construction practices, and accepted safe work techniques;
- Supervise Health, Safety, and Environment Advisors;
- Coordinate and participate in scheduling all internal audits and inspections;
- Conduct Internal Audits, First Aid Certifications, and other HS & E initiatives; and
- Perform other duties as assigned.
The ideal candidate will hold or be working towards the following credentials:
- National Construction Safety Officer (NCSO),
- Occupational Health & Safety Certificate,
- Canadian Registered Safety Professional (CRSP).
This role will suit an experienced HSE professional as you will have excellent knowledge of the concepts and principles of quality, health and safety, and environment.
